Affiliation
Rochelle Area Track Club is affiliated with the Illinois Chapter of the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) organization.

History
The Rochelle Area Track Club was started in 1978. Sandy and Don Mannel of Rochelle coached the club for many years during what could be considered the club's heyday. Kurt Wolter took over the program for 10 years. Rochelle Township High School has allowed the club to use it's facilities to foster track and field in the community since it's inception.

Membership in Rochelle Area Track Club includes membership in the USATF.

Events
There are many track & field events to try: sprinting, hurdles, distance running, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, javelin throw. At the junior olympics meet and our home meet athletes may compete in multi event like the heptathlon and the decathlon, which are a combination of 5 different events for the heptathlon and 10 different events for the decathlon.

Ages
Any athlete between the ages of 6 and up is eligible to be a club member.

Practice
Three practices per week, Tuesdays - Thursdays 5:30-7. We practice at the Rochelle Township High School track located at 1401 Flagg Road in Rochelle, IL.  Attendance at practice and track meets is encouraged but not mandatory.

Track Meets
There are several area track meets to compete in throughout the summer. The meets are usually on Saturdays. All meets are optional. Travel to the meets is not provided. There are many other meets USATF members may compete in throughout Illinois. Check those meets by visiting the USATF Illinois website at www.usatfillinois.org.

Important - you must sign up an athlete approximately two weeks in advance to particpate in the state Junior Olympics. Contact Coach Dobbs for more information.

Rochelle Area Track Club hosts the Rochelle Area Track Club Invitational . Several clubs and scores of individual athletes from all over Illinois and many from surrounding states will come to Rochelle to compete.
